The levels of overweight and obesity in the UK are reaching epidemic proportions. The estimated human cost of obesity is 18 million sick days per year, 30,000 deaths and 40,000 lost years of working life.
Obesity, stress, sick absence, poor concentration, de-motivation, fatigue and low productivity all have one thing in common … they can all be improved with good nutrition.
Teaching people about healthy eating and physical activity is not a luxury – it is a necessary measure to combat many of the health problems we see in today’s society. By interacting with people and giving them the skills they need to improve their health we can work together to invest in the health and well-being of every staff member.
